Enjoyable overnighter

Great location and spacious, clean accomodations. I only briefly heard neighboring guests. Parking was easy and early parking was accomodated. Reception desk was friendly. Breakfast staff was attentive and coffee was good. Enjoyed the pool table and fitness room.

Not much of a view despite being on a high floor. The room was at 26 degrees Celsius when we arrived and remained at 23 Celsius at bed time; I didn't see an a/c remote. Noise from the wind was loud in the room. Mattress for the single bed was too firm. Temperature in the breakfast restaurant was also too warm.

I love this place, it was very clean although there was no room cleaning service during our stay.

The sofa was uncomfortable, it needs extra cushions.

The Somerset Palace is in a great location and has friendly, helpful staff; we would stay again!

We really liked the location of the hotel, near several palaces and areas that we wanted to see. We enjoyed the spaciousness of our room and that it had separate bedrooms, a kitchen, and a washing machine to do laundry. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, especially the staff running the breakfast area. The room was also very clean.

The hotel is a bit dated which wasn't a problem for us, however, there was a large spot on the carpet in the main bedroom and the wooden floor in the living room area was very scratched up. There were also some spots from water damage on the ceiling and some loose texture/ bubbling.

We enjoyed this hotel and can recommend it as a very good place to explore the neighbourhood!

The location of this hotel is very good due to the proximity to the Palace, a very famous Buddhist Temple and a shopping street with plenty of very nice restaurants and small shops. The room was big, very clean and comfy. All staff were friendly and very helpful to assist us e.g. to book taxis for sightseeing-tours outside of Seoul.

friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, location and convenience. service is good too.

Very Good

Amazing location, comfortable bed, nice facilities (swimming pool, jacuzzi, lounge, pool). They clean the room daily.

I wish they'd put toiletries in the room when a guest arrives (there was no body soap in the bathroom when I checked in). The staff wasn't as proactive as I would have hoped they'd be when I requested their help with booking another night at the hotel after my flight was cancelled.

Excellent service, clean and convenient room and strategic location.

Check-in was very smooth and it took less than 3 minutes. The same goes for the check-out process. The room was well-maintained, clean and spacious. The receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful.

There isn't a single thing that I didn't like. Everything was perfect just like how i expected it to be

Wonderful

The BED!!!!! Usually my husband and I do not sleep sound in the hotel, the bed we slept at this hotel was not only huge but also so comfortable. Also, WASHING/DRYER in the apartment, we were staying while a lot of raining was in Seoul and all wet clothings were nicely cleaned and dried :). Definitely staying again.

Great location, comfortable furnishings, very good breakfast.

It would have been nice to have a proper coffee maker in the room, rather than just a kettle and instant coffee.

Good comfortable room with kitchenette and laundry. Nice and quiet.

I chose the hotel for two reasons; I hoped to have a view of Gyeongbokgung Palace, and it had laundry facilities in the room. The view was not as good as I would have liked, I f I looked off to the side I could see a little of the palace. The room was spacious and comfortable, almost like a one room apartment. I read comments that the hotel décor was dated; I was not bothered by it. The location was a little away from the happening areas of Seoul, and therefore not as many eating venues. I think it was the embassies area.

I can't fault the hotel, but the area was a little lackluster for a tourist. I liked my room, but I enjoyed the area around Insadong more.

Perfect location

Location is perfect: downtown, close to Insadong and Gwanghamun, Kyongbuk palace, and museums. Subway and bus stops very close. You can take the limousine bus (6011) from the airport. Breakfast is good: Korean and Western food.

The rooms are old and need renovation. Also, you can't control the temperature. Because it's an older building, you can open a little window.

We would stay here again for the location and the breakfast buffet.

The location was excellent for a tourist, with a lot of sightseeing and good eateries within walking distance. We also enjoyed the variety at the breakfast buffet, especially the Korean food choices. Finally, the hotel personnel were friendly and welcoming, the best we experienced after staying in four different hotels in Korea.

The rooms, while clean, comfortable and quite spacious, were dated and there were repairs and stained re-caulkings in the bathroom. Time to renovate the rooms. Also, as is typical in the Korean hotels we have experienced, the towels were skimpy and few in number.

Stayed in an executive suite King room. It was large and loved the kitchen/washer-dryer. Great location and nice breakfast. Definitely a good value and would stay there again.
